How do I set the Tariff on my OWL MICRO?

The cost of electricity per unit (kWhr) can be set from 00.00 to 99.99 pence.

Press and hold the [SET] key to enable the SET Mode.

The Main units will flash slowly (10 in default mode)

Press [] and/or [] to adjust the cost of electricity per unit main units.

Press [SET] to confirm the Main units value.

The Decimal place units will flash slowly (00 in default)

Press [▲] and/or [▼] to adjust the cost of electricity per unit decimal place units.

Press [SET] to confirm the decimal place units value.

The Cost of electricity per unit has been set and the unit will now return to the display mode.

In Cost mode the display will now be showing you the cost of your next hour’s electricity if you were to keep everything the same for the next hour

Please note your OWL Micro can only cater for a single tariff.

Economy 7 or more complex tariffs cannot be entered into the OWL Micro

For Block tariffs where a fixed fee is paid per day, or a higher price is charged for the first units consumed in any given period, this must be averaged out to be accounted for in the single tariff

Enter a price equivalent to

Price = Total Cost of Energy in a given period

How do I change the batteries in my OWL Micro Monitor?

Changing the Batteries in the OWL Micro will disrupt the pairing between the Monitor and the Transmitter. Please follow the instructions below to replace the batteries to get the two parts of the device paired together again.

  • Synchronising the Display and Transmitter
  • Remove the battery cover from the back of the transmitter and remove old batteries
  • Insert 2xAA batteries into the battery compartment ensuring that the batteries are the correct orientation.
  • Press the reset button in the Transmitter battery compartment.
  • Remove the battery cover from the base of the Display and remove old batteries
  • Press and Insert 2xAA batteries into the battery compartment ensuring that the batteries are the correct orientation.
  • Press and hold the Check key in the Transmitter battery compartment until the Red light starts to flash slowly this can take up to 30 seconds.
  • Press the reset button on the back of the Display. (End of a paperclip would be suitable)
  • A zero should appear in the display as soon as the units have paired.
  • Replace the battery cover of the Display
  • Replace the battery cover of the Transmitter
  • Fit the sensor clip over the insulated Live cable running into the meter (furthest left cable) or running out from the meter (furthest right cable). Note the sensor clip can be fitted anywhere along the live cable from the meter to the consumer unit.
  • The Transmitter LED will stop flashing after about 30 seconds.

What are the Transmitter Keys?

The Transmitter Keys are a set of keys that will:

The monitor keys help you change between modes.

Press [▲] and/or [▼] to change display modes between COST or ENERGY Display.

Press and HOLD SET key to enter the Tariff Setting mode.

Press [▲] and/or [▼] to adjust tariff rates in Tariff Setting mode.

Press [▲] to enter Power Save mode

Press [▲] and/or [▼] for longer than 2 seconds to clear accumulated Totals.
